Could You Have Lyme and Not Know It?

Forget what you have been told about “bulls-eye” rashes and deep woods excursions – they only make up a small percentage of the population infected by Lyme. Lyme Disease is not rare. It is an epidemic. Lyme disease and the inflammation produced because of it are also most likely a factor in the severity of many individuals’ autoimmune symptoms – if not the cause. (The Lyme Disease “outbreak” of the mid-1970’s caused arthritis.) According to the renowned Dr. Cowden, “…more than 50% of chronically ill people may have Lyme contributing to their condition”. (http://www.mercola.com/2001/jul/25/lyme_disease.htm)

Lyme, which was not even recognized in the United States until 1975, may be one of the most misunderstood and devastating diseases of our day. The test normally used to detect Lyme disease is extremely unreliable. This test does not look for the Lyme causing borreliosis bacteria. Instead, the test looks for the antibodies that your body has produced against Lyme causing bacteria. The problem is that Lyme can go undetected by your immune system for a long period of time, so those antibodies are not produced against it. Even after antibodies are produced, they are generally found in the tissue, not the blood of an infected person. The result is a negative blood test even if Lyme is present all over the body. Many organ systems can be invaded before an infected person even feels any symptoms. Some will never feel symptoms. (http://www.mercola.com/2001/jul/25/lyme_disease.htm)

Dr. Jo Anne Whitaker (no known relation to the author) developed a test that looks for the Lyme borreliosis bacteria, not the antibody. Dr. Whitaker’s lab has tested thousands of people for the presence of Lyme causing bacteria. Every test performed by her lab since 1999 has been positive for Lyme disease.

Lyme causes autoimmunity in the brain and central nervous system, not just the joints. It can mimic MS, Chronic Fatigue, and many mental illnesses.

Long Distance Relationship Breakups

In case you’re also one of those people who have gone through this situation, you should try to pay attention to few things to start your life in a better way. The most important thing to do is to give your ex some time to miss you. It means you should not panic after hearing your ex’s decision about breakup. Many girls start panicking and make their boyfriends know the value of a relationship for them.

It’s a completely wrong thing to do, and if you do it, you actually eliminate all chances of getting them back. If you stay calm and don’t argue, you’re surely going to get a chance to make your old boyfriend get back to you. And, to show your consent about the correctness of a decision you should send him a message to stop contacting you in future.

Although it seems like saying ‘no’ to your boyfriend will make him move on, that’s not the case in reality. The reason is that people always go for what they think is going away from them. And, that’s the reason why you will see your old boyfriend asking you to get back into a relationship. Just make certain you don’t cry or show your pain and things will get better.

Get Into His Head – Use These Methods to Learn What He is Thinking and Feeling

Let him know that you are there.
Start by letting him know that you are there for him. This should be done softly and subtly. Gently touch him, gently talk to him, and let him know carefully that you are there for him. After you let him know that you are there for him it is time to go.

Move on.
Don’t harass him and don’t hover over him. Instead take a break and back off. This will give him the space that he needs to figure things out. This is very important for getting him to talk. If you are wanting to get him to open up you have to let it happen in his own time frame. Go out and come back and he may be ready to talk. You can also get busy in another room.

Don’t be pushy.
If you work on pushing him into talking you will make him feel isolated, pushed, forced, and is likely to close up rather then open up. Just remember that he will talk to you when he is ready. Often times getting in his head is really about waiting for him to be ready to talk to you.

If you are wanting to get into his head and learn what he is thinking and feeling then you need to let him know you are there for him. After that, back off, move on, and make sure you aren’t pushy. Remember if he feels harassed it will only be worse. Always remember that when he is ready he will open up, talk, and share with you.

Were the Buddha and Christ Avatars?

Of course, I suppose that an avatar back in the days of Buddha and Christ couldn’t talk about the universe or space travel very much because it wasn’t until recently that the cosmos has been understood at a scientific level. Yet some of the Buddhist scriptures going back 2600 years have passages that are enigmatic, mentioning that there are a ten trillion universes constantly expanding and contracting, and that there have been a trillion Buddhas in the past scattered amongst these universes, indicating that we (“creatures who are transmigrating in the universal flux”) could be reborn on a variety of different planets in a human type material state, or in numerous, different heavenly realms in spirit form, or even in hells!

That being said, the typical mainstream Buddhist or Christian in those days, I assume, couldn’t relate to scientific concepts, and therefore the teachings had to be tailored to the mentality of the followers. Thus we were most probably taught simplistic notions, i.e. not to give energy to our sinful ways, not to make bad karma, be good people rather than evil people, and not to think for ourselves regarding our beliefs and either just believe, or study thought until thought no longer had a hold on our minds. There seemed to be some very important aspects to a non-thinking mind that the Avatars were trying to convey.

But I believe that the Avatars slipped up a little and divulged some deeper teachings to their closest disciples, men and women who could grasp and carry forward the deeper message. Perhaps because of this, the Catholics have their contemplative saints and the Buddhists have their meditating monks. Actually, almost all ancient religions have a deeper aspect where the practitioner is expected to not only live a pure life, but to practice methods of mind development as well.

It could possibly be that the refinement or non-refinement of the mind is what makes all the difference in where throughout the universe and the heavens (and hells) our mental energy travels after death. These deeper methods were possibly short cuts to freedom from earthly, material existence, while the common methods of virtue and generosity practices perhaps took many thousands of lifetimes to accumulate the good karma to be able to understand the refined practices.

It makes one wonder how deep this wisdom from the stars and beyond can be. The enlightenment experience, described in detail by many Arahants (some contemporary) in the Buddhist religion is mind blowing! Definitely not of this world. And the powers they acquire and the deep understanding they project is almost unbelievable.

I would have to conclude that indeed Avatars have visited us here on earth, one way or the other, and if we would have heeded their messages, the world would not be in the pickle it is in, which is a state of stress! But it’s not too late. Read into your religion until you find the deeper meanings, and then practice them as diligently as you can, as diligently as you now seek pleasure.

That would make the Avatars happy!

Children’s Quilts – Each Tells a Story

How does the story of each unique quilt begin? As a quilter commences her initial design work, thoughts grow and develop from the design board to the sewing machine. Each of her children’s quilts tells its own story, as the pieces are cut from carefully chosen fabrics, sewn carefully into patterns. The story’s is illustrated through color, design, and texture. Whether the quilter has a special child in mind, as she sews and quilts, or if the quilter is designing and quilting for the love of her art, either way, the children’s quilts come to life step by step. For example, the soft baby flannel that may be used in the piecing of a clown’s hat may evoke memories of a toy that the quilter’s son once played with in the nursery. The soft pink cotton that once was the out grown nightgown of a clumsy toddler is now the ballerina’s skirt in a children’s quilt of a graceful little girl, who grew up and now loves to show her Mommy how much she loves to dance, instead of crawling around the house. Or the blue jean train on the newly finished children’s quilt which was once a little boy’s first pair of dungarees. Tonight, when he goes to bed, and hugs his handmade children’s quilt, the story can be told again about the little train on that special children’s quilt, a keepsake for years to come, with a story to tell.
Take time to quilt.

Why American Health Care is So Expensive

According to a recent report quoted by the New York Times, obese citizens spend about 42% more per year on health care than normal-weight Americans.

“Obesity, and with it diabetes, are the only major health problems that are getting worse in this country, and they’re getting worse rapidly,” Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, director of the Center for Disease Control, said.

If obesity is driving up health care costs, what can we do about it? Ask doctors to charge less? Make the drug
companies provide free diabetes medicines and diet pills to obese people? Ask the insurance companies to provide their services for free?

Maybe we could nationalize the whole health care system and force all American taxpayers share the cost equally of caring for these unfortunate Americans who are the victims of…what? The restaurant industry! That’s it! Fast food and Doritos did it to them! Lays potato chips: “Bet you can’t have just one!” They dared these poor souls to become addicted to their deadly products–and it worked!.

I’m sorry. I’m being ridiculous to make a point. My point is, our health care system is buckling under the weight of
the expensive round-about procedures we do and drugs we provide to counteract the effects of what people are doing to themselves.

Digging Our Graves With A Fork & Knife
We are a nation of food-aholics. Most of us don’t eat real foods prepared at home from fruit, vegetables, whole grains and beans. Most of what we eat has to center around either some animal meat and fat and lots of highly refined carbohydrates. Very few vitamins and minerals are left in our food–and almost no fiber. And we wonder why we get fat , have diabetes, heart attacks, and require expensive medical care.

My medical care costs me nothing but the time it takes to do some daily exercises and eat right. Chalk
it up partially to vanity–I never wanted to let myself get overweight or suffer the diseases that plagued my family tree.

A big part of my medical care is to eat what science and my conscience tells me I should, rather than stuff that merely tastes good.

But it’s all worth it to me. I’m not pleading with the government to get me health care. Nobody had to inform me that eating too much of the wrong foods would make me sick: I figured it out on my own after reading a few good books and research reports. It wasn’t hard–and it was a benefit for me to stay well.

What would I do about the health of the American people?
The best thing the health care professionals could do is to stop coddling us. Stop treating us like imbeciles.
Tell us the truth. I suspect that if doctors and public health officials leveled with citizens and told them the
golden truth that “We all are about 97% responsible for our own health, based on what we choose to eat,” it might make an impression after a while.

It probably won’t happen, I know, because the fast-food industry and other makers of fat-food(meat packers and the dairy and sugar industries) are in control of our FDA and the US Department of Agriculture. They would scream bloody murder if the public were told the truth about how their food products are the reason our arteries are plugged up with cholesterol and why we’re growing obese.

But, the bottom line is, we don’t have to eat those foods. Nobody is forcing us to eat foods that lead to heart
attacks, breast cancer, strokes, Alzheimer’s Disease, colon cancer, etc., etc. If you don’t believe me, then read the medical research that clearly establishes the connection between what we eat and these diseases.

Did you know that there are still pockets of people who still eat traditional diets that are primarily vegetarian–and
they rarely have heart attacks. Their women very rarely get breast cancer. People of these nations live to 90 and 100 years frequently, with sharp minds, good eyesight and they continue to work in their gardens and orchards. They are respected and contributing members of their society. If we chose to eat like these people, we could reduce our need for expensive and dangerous health care.

Here’s a simple truth of economics: If there was no demand for health care because everyone was healthy, then health care would be cheap. It’s a matter of supply and demand. A lot of cardiologists standing around with no triple-bypasses to do would quickly lower their prices. That’s my answer to the high cost of health care: Get healthy!

How do you get healthy? A good starting place to help you understand what’s wrong with our typical American diet is a book by T. Colin Campbell, Jr., PhD, entitled “The China Study.”
